Project Writeup
Inspiration
Last week, my friends and I visited a local spot in DC called Mr. Pollo. We were blown away by the quality of the food. When we tried to leave a tip, the owner refused — he said the best thing we could do was spread the word. That's where this idea really took shape. Small businesses often offer goods and services that rival or surpass bigger competitors, yet rarely get the chance to showcase what makes them special. We wanted to change that.
What It Does
We help small businesses become investment-ready, and help investors filter opportunities by investment size, sector, and stage. It's a complete ecosystem where businesses can build and showcase their story and find the right matches all in one place.
How We Built It
| Layer | Technology |
|---|---|
| Web Framework | Flask 3.1.3 |
| Database | MongoDB via MongoEngine |
| AI | Gemini API |
| Image Generation | Pillow (Python, no external service) |
| Background Jobs | APScheduler |
| Auth | Flask-Login + Werkzeug password hashing |
| Frontend | Tailwind CSS CDN, Vanilla JS, Material Symbols |
Challenges We Ran Into
Deciding on a payment structure for our business model and figuring out how to plan and implement everything within a single day.
Accomplishments We're Proud Of
Integrating Solana and MongoDB into a cohesive, functioning product within the hackathon timeframe.
What We Learned
How to collaborate effectively as a team — cutting scope when needed, planning ahead, and storyboarding before building.
What's Next for Untitled
