Launch!

As classes transitioned to online there was more stress put on students to teach themselves. With multiple links for each class our automatic Zoom launcher, Launch!, takes away one less worry.

Inspiration:


Our personal struggles in transitioning to learning online as a result of COVID-19 and busy lives trying to balance family and school during a difficult time for the world.

What it does:


Given input on class schedule the application visualizes a weekly calendar and automatically launches zoom links with passwords in the clipboard at the according time for students.

How we built it


Our team utilized Java, Python, and JavaFX to create the platform. We all combined our past knowledge working in these languages to developed the application. Java was used to make the back end while JavaFX was the main UI driver, and python was used to parse ICS files.

Challenges we ran into


Our group had a mix of experiences in hackathons that we worked hard to balance.

What we learned


Our group learned the importance of planning, implication, and testing in a hands on manner in a fast working setting.
