Inspiration

Most current ai music generators rely on a single, rigid text box for prompting. i wanted to build something much more steerable and fine-tunable that gives the creator actual control over the process.

The name "laulu" is a Finnish word and it means: "a song" in English.

What it does

It acts as a collaborative copilot using nvidia nemotron models as an agent. the agent works with you to dial in the exact song settings and vibe you're describing, and then generates the track using lyria 3.5 via the gemini api.

How we built it

I used Nebius Token Tactory to handle inference for the NVIDIA models and built the agent workflow with the Strands Agents SSDK. The frontend is built with react and the backend runs on node.js.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Shipping a fully working, end-to-end product rather than stopping at a basic proof of concept.

What we learned

I learned how to integrate third-party inference platforms and how to effectively leverage ai as a full-stack productivity multiplier—all the way from initial architecture to production deployment.

What's next for LAULU - AI Music Copilot

Launching it publicly as a go-to platform where creatives can easily generate custom music for personal projects, other artists, video games, and more.
