The Project

The Lauffenmühle Museum is a digital museum.

It allows you to explore the Lauffenmühle (former textile company) directly on your smartphone, tablet or PC using a virtual tour. You can experience this even more intensively using a virtual reality headset.

The company Bitblade Vision has started to scan the entire site of the former Lauffenmühle using a 360° camera and a 3D scanner.

This makes it possible to archive the buildings and part of Lauchringen's history.

What it does

The 3D model is an archive of a piece of the history of the municipality of Lauchringen. It was created to explore the former site, even though it has been changed and rebuilt.

How we built it

We recorded the 3D Modells with a Matterport Camera and DJI Drones.

Challenges we ran into

The processors of our devices were running at their limits, causing the devices to crash constantly. We therefore bought the latest and best devices until our platform's servers reached their limits. We had to split the project and then put it together manually.
