💡 Inspiration

I created this app because one of my biggest use cases for LLMs is to generate ideas—from webinar concepts to marketing strategy to new product ideas.

But writing long prompts and sifting through a bunch of results just to get to the gems is tedious.

So I built Latent Genius (👈🏼this is a link). It's an app that runs an advanced eight-step prompt chain, simplifying and automating the idea-generation process I typically have to wrestle with using LLMs.

❓ What it does

  • Starts by generating five strong initial ideas
  • Then spins off 15 unique variations
  • And finally, generates a handful of super creative ideas

The AI then:

  • Analyzes and ranks all ideas using internal scoring
  • Selects top ideas to generate eight tailored variations
  • From those, surfaces the six best results using ranking criteria

🧠 The user can:

  • View each result individually
  • See the reasoning process behind them
  • Generate a detailed action plan with strategic and actionable steps
  • Instantly copy and launch into execution

Bonus: You can also generate up to four extra ideas with advanced reasoning models of your choice.

🛠️ How I built it

  • Created a detailed project brief outlining the flow and UX
  • Used OpenRouter API to implement the prompt chain
  • Extensively refined prompts for quality
  • Enhanced the results page with action plan features
  • Integrated Resend API for email output
  • Polished the email templates
  • Added support for multiple Reasoning model options

🧩 Challenges I ran into

  • Getting the prompt logic and results just right
  • Ironically, spent too much time perfecting the loading screen—but people love it!

  • The loading screen 😆
  • The action plans are genuinely useful
  • The email output is sleek and professional

  • Learned how to integrate Resend API with Bolt (now using it in other apps too!)

I want to grow Latent Genius into the go-to free resource for AI-powered idea generation.

My goal is to help people go from 0 to 1—from dream to first step—with ideas they can act on.
