Inspiration
Inspired by games like Vampire Survivors, and what we learned from our past Game Jams. Our goal was to make a modular game with a unique art style.
What it does
Control Roy L. Tee with W, A, S, and D to fly around. Locals from nearby castles will charge at you. Breathe fire by holding Left Click to defeat them. Some enemies will drop upgrade crystals, which you can use to improve your run. Collect as much money in stolen royalties as you can, until the people of the castles overwhelm you!
WASD - Move
Mouse - Aim
Left Click - Fire
How we built it
All artwork is hand-made using modeling clay, and metal wire. We took photos of the clay models to make up the assets for the game. Code was done in the Godot Game Engine.
Challenges we ran into
Cutting out every single sprite and frame of animation was very tedious, but ended up being worth it to get the result of a game with a really unique art style.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are very proud of all of the upgrades that we were able to implement in the game. We are also very proud of how the game looks, taking the real life claymation and making it look great in Godot.
What we learned
We have learned better Git practices, time management (for some of us, this was our first ever 24 hour game jam), and learned better ways to turn the claymation process into a quicker way of getting all of the claymation fames.
What's next for Late Fees, Royalties
Not much, we are probably done with this game once the jam is over but look forward to more games produced by the team!
