Inspiration

LatamSwap was inspired by Uniswap v2, yet we envisioned a platform with advanced optimizations. Our goal was to enhance the user experience by retaining the familiarity of Uniswap v2 while significantly improving efficiency and reducing gas costs.

What it does

LatamSwap redefines the DEX experience. While maintaining full compatibility with Uniswap v2, it introduces a suite of enhanced features and operates on a much lower gas cost. This makes it not just an alternative but a superior choice for DeFi enthusiasts.

How we built it

We meticulously built LatamSwap from the ground up, focusing on seamless integration with the Uniswap v2 ecosystem. Our approach combined modern Solidity practices with a deep understanding of the DeFi landscape, ensuring both compatibility and innovation.

Challenges we ran into

One of the major challenges was building a secure and gas-optimized DEX from scratch. We encountered specific issues related to incorporating immutables into the pair contract created via CREATE2. To resolve this, we innovatively employed the CREATE3 pattern, which proved to be a game-changer in enhancing contract efficiency and security.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are immensely proud of LatamSwap's accomplishment as a fully Uniswap v2 compatible DEX, but with superior optimizations. The fact that we've managed to create a platform that not only matches but exceeds the efficiency and user experience of an established DEX is a testament to our team's skill and dedication.

What we learned

Throughout this journey, we've deepened our expertise in advanced Solidity coding, DeFi protocol security, and gas optimization techniques. We've also gained valuable insights into user experience preferences in the DeFi space, which have been instrumental in shaping LatamSwap.

What's next for LatamSwap

The future for LatamSwap is vibrant and full of potential. Our roadmap includes expanding our DeFi services with features like Initial Liquidity Offerings (ILOs), developing an no code tool so user could deploy their own tokens and rewards programas (fair launch).
