Inspiration
My grandfather K. Govindarajan is 74. My grandmother G. Radha is 70. They have never used a smartphone, yet they carry stories, recipes, and wisdom that exist nowhere else on earth. According to WHO, 57 million people are living with dementia, and millions of family memories disappear every year. I built LastWish because I didn’t want to wait until it was too late.
What it does
LastWish is an AI-powered family memory preservation app with five agents: Story Excavator — captures life memories through gentle conversations Recipe Preserver — converts “cook by feel” recipes into reproducible steps Wisdom Capture — stores life lessons and legacy letters Family Archive — links photos with stories and voice notes Legacy Planner — schedules final wishes and messages for loved ones Memories are organized through a Family Tree, and legacy letters can be delivered automatically on birthdays, weddings, or future milestones.
How we built it
Built entirely on MeDo using conversational AI prompting with multilingual support for Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, and English.
Challenges we ran into
Getting the AI tone right — warm and gentle, never clinical. And building scheduled delivery that works without requiring recipients to download anything.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
My grandmother's honey and ginger remedy — passed down three generations, existing nowhere else — is now preserved forever. Her exact words. Her voice. Her love.
What we learned
The hardest part of preserving memories isn't technology. It's asking the right question at the right moment. LastWish does that.
What's next for LastWish
Mobile app, WhatsApp delivery integration, and expanding to 10 Indian languages.
