Inspiration
Growing up with hard working parents, it was hard knowing good food was going to waste when it could be going to them or homeless shelters. Our families often relied on food banks growing up to get food. This app not only is a way to say thank you to our parents, but we hope that will help our parents, not just them but other parents just like ours.
What it does
Our app bridges the gap between perfectly good food going to waste and people who will appreciate the food.
How we built it
We built it with React, Spring boot, AWS Lambda and AWS RDS.
Challenges we ran into
It was hard to come up with an idea initially. We also hard trouble coding up our project, but with AI it has helped tremendously.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Learning new AWS tools, learn more about what we value, learn more able working in a team, and researching our problem.
What we learned
The importance of communication, learning how to approach/properly break down a problem, AWS tools, and prompt engineering.
