🌊 Last Breath

Every treasure holds a breath. Crack it for air or carry it for gold.

Somewhere at the bottom of a black trench, a Sunken Star is waiting. Between you and it: a few hundred meters of open water, a bag that only holds so much, an air gauge that never stops falling, and everything that lives down there.

Last Breath is a free diving survival game built around one rule: your treasure and your oxygen are the same thing.

💎 The One Rule That Changes Everything

Every pearl, relic, and gem you grab can be used two ways:

  • Crack it in your bag for a burst of precious air, right now, when your lungs are burning
  • Bank it at the surface for coins and mastery, if you can make it back alive

That single choice fires every few seconds of every dive. The relic in slot three is worth 45 coins toward your next upgrade... and it is also 10 seconds of breathing. Greed and survival are always the same decision, and the deeper you go, the more that decision hurts.

🤿 How It Feels To Play

Hold anywhere and your diver swims toward your finger. Release and you float gently upward. That is the whole control scheme, and it works the second you touch the screen.

It goes deeper though: the game supports true multi touch, so one thumb steers your escape while the other cracks oxygen mid swim. When you are threading a jellyfish gauntlet at 400 meters with 9 seconds of air, cracking a pearl without breaking your line is the skill ceiling revealing itself.

🪼 What Lives In The Trench

Each depth zone has its own light, its own music, and its own ways to kill you:

  • Jellyfish drift in slow pulsing walls, denser on the way down
  • Eels patrol their territory and rotate into a strike dive when they charge you
  • Urchins make hugging the walls a bad habit
  • Thief fish do not hurt you. They steal from your bag and bolt, and you have seconds to chase them down
  • Anglerfish are invisible in the dark except for a warm golden light that looks exactly like treasure. It is not treasure
  • Mine crabs crawl the deep walls like living naval mines, blinking faster and faster once you are close

🐙 The Guardian

Every expedition's Star is guarded. While you descend, all you see of the guardian is tentacles breaching the sand.

Then you grab the Star.

The trench floor tears open, the guardian screams, devours the sea around it, and the calm descent becomes a hunted ascent. The music turns, projectiles chase you the full height of the trench, telegraphed arms whip out to seven times their length, and the ascent becomes the run of your life.

And it escalates. A distinctly stronger creature guards each expedition, from a Giant Octopus to things much worse, ending with an apex leviathan whose suction vortex drags the entire ocean, you included, toward an upward gaping mouth ringed with spiraling teeth. Get pulled into that mouth and there is no damage number. You are simply consumed.

📈 An Endless Ladder That Keeps Pulling

  • Expeditions are endless: every victory opens a deeper, darker, harder trench with a preview card showing its depth and the new threats waiting inside
  • Coins buy upgrade tiers: lungs, fins, agility (a real dodge chance), and bag slots, plus tiered gear like the respirator, stun pulse, and dive suit
  • Mastery grows quietly every time you bank treasure, a second progression engine that rewards the greedy route
  • Powerups like adrenaline, oxygen cells, and the decoy orb ride in your bag, and every item you carry adds weight that slows you down
  • Loot is finite per expedition. You cannot farm the shallows. The trench forces you deeper, which is exactly where you do not want to go

🎨 Style Is Earned

Six wetsuit colors are yours from the start. The good stuff is earned by diving: a snorkel, a headlamp, a shell necklace, a vintage brass helmet, and finally a golden star aura, each unlocking at dive milestones that keep whispering one more expedition.

🔊 A World Made Entirely From Code

Here is the part we are proudest of: there is not a single asset file in this game. Every creature, every glow, every wall of the trench is drawn procedurally on a canvas. Every sound, from the calm lydian ambience of the descent to the guardian's screaming howls and the panic drums of the chase, is synthesized live in WebAudio. The whole game is one readable HTML file that makes zero network requests.

It was built end to end through AI driven development: prompted, playtested on real phones, and tuned across 27 logged sessions, with every prompt preserved in the build log.

⭐ The First Ten Seconds

Tap to dive and the game shows you its own ending first: a plunge past every zone of the trench, a glowing Star, tentacles rising out of the dark to drag it under, and a glitch that snaps you back to the surface.

That is the promise the whole game keeps. The Star is down there. The thing that owns it is too.

How deep will greed take you?
