Inspiration
We noticed that a lot of people and students, make uninformed decisions when buying their laptops, and they usually end up unhappy with their purchase. We wanted to make something to help this and prevent buyers remorse on such an expensive item.
What it does
It reads through the whole site HTML, looking for key words and the AI reads them, and then returns the thoughts that we prompted it to return.
How we built it
We used the chrome extension guide to help us get the file structure, then we looked to OpenAI documentation on how to implement the API to get results from the page, and then return them using Javascript and HTML.
Challenges we ran into
GETTING THE API TO WORK. The model we used was deprecated and we did not realize this until a while in. The documentation online was good, but it was not super compatible for what we were doing, so we messed around with our code and eventually got it to work.
