Inspiration
Our idea stemmed from our awareness of the changing landscape around our neighborhood, where we noticed many of our once-bustling neighbors who ran Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are now gradually losing competitiveness and closing down. MSMEs play a crucial role in Indonesia's economy. Data from the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) confirms that MSMEs significantly contribute to economic growth, accounting for 61.97% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2020. However, the Covid-19 pandemic posed serious challenges to MSMEs, including declining income and product demand. Observing these circumstances, we felt compelled to create a solution that activates MSMEs to innovate and adapt to the evolving digital era. lapaku.online emerges as the answer to the need for a platform that enables MSMEs to harness the potential of the online market more efficiently, professionally, and connects them with customers.
What It Does
lapaku.online is a web-based platform that allows business owners to set up online stores at no cost. With lapaku.online, sellers can easily create and manage their own stores, including customizing the store's appearance to align with their brand identity. We believe that facilitating MSMEs' access to the digital realm will help improve competitiveness and provide a professional impression to their stores, thereby increasing their income potential.
How We Built It
We built lapaku.online with a focus on simplicity and accessibility. With a user-friendly interface and clear guidance, we aim to ensure that our platform can be accessed by everyone, including those without deep technical backgrounds. We are committed to providing technology that supports the growth of MSMEs in the digital era.
The Challenges We Faced
The development process of lapaku.online was not without its challenges. We faced various technical obstacles and consistently strived to bring relevant and useful features to users. The balance between sophisticated functionality and user-friendliness is emphasized at every stage of development. We faced during the development process of lapaku.online is that we need to learn about the SquareUp platform, because we are using SquareUp for the first time, after we learned about SquareUp, we concluded that SquareUp is the largest business technology platform that serves all types of businesses, Square allows business owners to sell anywhere, work more efficiently. We as developers try to integrate lapaku.online with SquareUp, we use the SquareUp API to integrate such as API Create Customer Group Service, Create customer, Add group to customer, Create invoice, Publish invoice, Create order, Create location. However, there is some documentation that requires more time and effort to understand, such as when we have created an invoice and we have published the invoice, we get a response, one of which contains a payment link. When we opened the payment link, we were confused about how to test the payment, because we were immediately presented with the original payment form, I hope there is a payment simulator feature that can be used to test the payment, such as creating a paid invoice by entering a fake credit card number provided by SquareUp without having to use a real credit card.
Our proud achievements
We are very proud of the development of lapaku.online, especially when we entered the internal development and testing phase, integrating the Square API into our platform. This integration is an important milestone in our journey to improve lapaku.online's future capabilities. Utilizing Square's API allows us to provide reliable payment processing and comprehensive e-commerce features to our users, ensuring smooth transactions and a safer online shopping experience.
