Lanternlight: One Night is a short narrative card game about carrying one lantern through a sleeping town before dawn. You owe a debt, and the only thing you can spend to pay it is the light you carry. Walking between rooms costs oil. Working in a room costs oil and earns coins, trust or promises. When the oil runs out, the night ends, whether or not the debt is paid.

After every room you choose between two dark doors, so you never see the whole town in one night. Every room deals three different pieces of work, such as mending, carrying, counting, sharing or giving light, each with its own cost and reward. You can buy oil where it is sold, or borrow a neighbour's light and owe them at dawn. If you act the same way twice, the town comes to know you for it and new rooms open. You can wait for dawn whenever you like and settle with what you hold. A night takes about six to nine minutes, and it can be lost.

One Night is free and complete: 12 hand-painted rooms, no ads, no accounts, no tracking, playable offline. The Long Night is an optional one-time purchase that adds a separate 12-room storm night with three harder debts.

I designed and own the game. AI agents helped me build, test and ship it; every design and release decision is mine.
