InspirationAbout the Project
Lantern in the Deep began as a single visual idea: a lone light drifting through an ocean of darkness — a metaphor for memory, emotion, and the fragile glow of hope.
This image stayed with me. It felt like a symbol of how we move through our own subconscious: silent, uncertain, but always carrying a light that refuses to die.
What Inspired Me
I was inspired by:
the quiet poetry of deep-sea bioluminescence
the feeling of being “lost inside your own thoughts”
classical mythologies of guiding lights
and modern digital loneliness — where the smallest spark means everything
The project became a way to express how a single connection, a single emotion, or a single memory can illuminate an entire inner world.
What I Learned
While building Lantern in the Deep, I learned how powerful minimalism can be. One faint glow can create an entire atmosphere.
