Inspiration

We wanted to make language learning feel like real communication instead of repeating flashcards. Many existing apps focus on streaks and gamification, but learners still struggle to speak confidently in real conversations.

What we built

LangVerse is an AI-powered Telegram Mini App that combines structured lessons, an AI teacher, speech practice, and personalized progress tracking. The goal is to help learners improve through short, interactive daily missions.

How we built it

We built LangVerse using React, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Docker, and Telegram Mini Apps. AI conversations are powered by OpenRouter, while speech transcription uses OpenAI Whisper.

Challenges

The biggest challenge was integrating AI features while keeping the application fast and responsive inside Telegram. We also focused on designing a clean user experience and building a scalable architecture for future growth.

What's next

Our next goals are to improve AI conversation quality, add more languages, implement pronunciation assessment, and continue expanding the learning experience.
