Inspiration

As a new student at university, it can be challenging to find your way around on foot. Even with map services like Apple Maps, it's still not intuitive enough to get around. Our app addresses this issue by providing intuitive navigation directions with augmented reality.

What it does

To start off, users are able to search for a destination they want to go to. Afterwards, the the app displays the route to the destination on a map view. The user can then use augmented reality to navigate to where they want to go.

How we built it

  • Prototyped using Sketch
  • Written in Swift

Challenges we ran into

  • Very short time frame
  • The fact that we were pretty new to mobile development

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Actually getting the augmented reality part of the app to function

What we learned

  • Coding with Swift and React Native
  • ARKit
  • SLEEP IS FOR THE WEAK

What's next for Landmark 5C

  • Making a legit front end and login system
  • Improving the accuracy of the AR navigation functionality
  • Improving the frame rate of augmented reality with processing long trips
