Inspiration
Wow!! I remember back in 2020 during Covid period, most Universities closed and so sorrounding apartments which relied on their presence got really affected. My Guardians owning such an apartment wasn't any exception. We had to give leavers for months were rooms weren't occupied . That where the rain started hitting.Due to the inconsistency it was so hard keeping track of rental payments and using existing tools such as excel, bank statements or Mpesa messages weren't that useful.Come to think why not have a lasting, user friendly and transparent way of doing things. Then eventually realized we were not the only ones thinking the same ,others stories were even worse hence need to come up with a solution .
What it does
-Provides a user friendly way of buying/selling/renting/leasing real estate assets such that the user fails to loose their funds and the receiver gets their total agreed amount while both get a copy of the transactions automatically on their dashboard (of which can be used as an e-receipt) . -In addition prevents double allocation and allows user pay using their Near tokens.
How we built it
-Performed market research and feasibility study. -Planned how to solve the problem. -Built Figma designs. -Coded the front-end -Built the near smart contract. -Embarked on integration.
Challenges we ran into
-Step learning curve for Rust programming language.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
-Complete smart contract.
What we learned
-Writing of near smart contracts
What's next for LandCoin
-Adoption to the market and extensive adoption.
