Inspiration

An fun fact brought up by a friend on how certain wifi routers are capable of spatially detecting devices connected to them.

What it does

LANCER device is capable of working in tandem with multiple units to track traffic trends, idle time intervals, historical and traffic habits. Lancer is an alternative technology to current day traffic APIs that are based on cameras, payment systems, and datasets of personal information. Lancer offers an improvement to current methods by offering anonymity to it’s subjects. :

Aid peace officers in identifying hotspots for loitering, so that they can prioritize locations to patrol effectively
help students save time by avoiding crowded library spaces
Allow malls to identify regions with high people flow, which can help them adjust lease rates to maximize profits - Minimize the transmission of COVID-19 by identifying regions of high activity and usage density, so that appropriate improvements can be made to transit/commute routes. ## How we built it By collecting the mac addresses of nearby devices through bluetooth, it is capable of being configured to work with multiple units in collecting traffic detection analytics. LANCER utilizes bluetooth beacons to detect available devices that are in-range of it, such as phones, watches, laptops, tablets, headsets, mouse, pens and other bluetooth peripherals.

On its own a LANCER unit can track traffic trends, idle time intervals, historicals and traffic habits. It is capable of being configured to work with multiple units in collecting traffic detection analytics. LANCER utilizes bluetooth beacons to detect available devices that are in-range of it, such as phones, watches, laptops, tablets, headsets, mouse, pens and other bluetooth peripherals. LANCER has applications in a wide-range of retail markets, social hotspots, security detailing and personal use.
