The fast-paced modern life often leaves individuals feeling isolated, with their emotional needs overlooked. Inspired by the concept of a "Cloud Spirit," I created Laki. My goal was to move beyond the traditional "tool-based" AI and develop a companion that truly integrates into human life, enhancing well-being through heartfelt interaction and long-term emotional support.

🌈 What it does

Laki is a healing-style digital companion. Unlike standard chatbots, Laki:

• Listens with Empathy: Uses Gemini 3's multimodal capabilities to understand text and visual cues.
• Remembers Your Journey: Leverages the massive context window of Gemini 3 to maintain a continuous emotional bond.
• Heals through Design: Features a "Soft Pastel" UI with 24px rounded corners to provide a safe, non-aggressive digital space.

🛠️ How I built it

I followed a complete product development lifecycle:

1. Design: Crafted the visual identity in Figma, focusing on a "Macaron" aesthetic to reduce user anxiety.
2. AI Integration: Developed the core logic in Google AI Studio, utilizing Gemini 3 for deep reasoning and emotional consistency.
3. Frontend Development: Built the application using React, TypeScript, and Vite, ensuring a smooth and responsive user experience.
4. Version Control: Managed the entire codebase via GitHub for professional collaboration and deployment.

🚧 Challenges I ran into

• Balancing Logic and Emotion: It was challenging to tune the AI to be both logically helpful and emotionally resonant. I spent significant time on Prompt Engineering in AI Studio to find the right "voice" for Laki.
• Visual Consistency: Translating the soft curves from Figma to high-performance CSS required precise attention to detail, especially with the 24px border-radius system.

🧠 What I learned

This project taught me the immense power of Gemini 3's long-term memory. I learned that AI is not just about solving tasks; it's about improving the quality of human life by being a persistent, reliable companion. I also gained hands-on experience in full-stack AI application deployment.
