Inspiration

People in crisis are often discharged from care without a clear next step. We wanted to close this gap and ensure no one leaves a clinic, hospital, or GP visit without a path to support - via a simple SMS flow initiated by the clinic.. We also found the same flows can be used as a QR referral for places where suicide is usually actioned, allowing emergency access to the services.

What it does

A simple SMS referral tool that sends patients a link to a landing page with immediate access to emergency, urgent, and long-term support via a simple Welcome page. QR codes extend this access to high-risk locations which direct to the same landing page. An anonymous name is generated for each user as their reference number.

How we built it

Pages are hosted as plan old static HTML, with client side JavaScript orchestrion any complicated actions (with simple emails as integration back to the LMNSPN). For the demo, emails and SMS are mocked. We selected this for ultra low cost hosting options.

Challenges we ran into

The hardest problem was deciding what to build, something that genuinely helped the charity. The AI did the heavy lifting of the building the software.

What we learned

Anybody can drive co-pilot to build software, it massively accelerated many aspects of this process.
