Inspiration
My inspiration starts from me being interested in business. I have always been interested in reselling sneakers. Reselling sneakers is a business where there are lots of numbers involved. You must track how much you bought for, how much you sold for, when you bought and etc. Many people use Google Spreadsheet to track these kind of things but asking around the community I found that it wasn't easy for many people to use. I wanted to create a website that would be more user efficient for people to track their sales so I created LaceTrack.
What it does
This website tracks your sales and profit using your inputted information. It also will include a section where you can sell/ship your shoes in the near future.
How we built it
I build it using Python, HTML/CSS, Google Cloud FireBase, and Heroku hosting. Also used a BootStrap Template
Challenges we ran into
One challenge I ran into was https routing. As a result, for now, the user must include https:// in the beginning of his/her link to fix this.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I'm proud of how I made a website that actually served my needs as an e-commerce merchant. I'm also proud of learning how to use Google Cloud Firebase for the first time in order to complete the user login aspect.
What we learned
I've learned that learning new things in programming/computer science is definitely not easy. Although, high school does teach us many things, I think that projects are the only way to actually learn and digest how to code.
What's next for LaceTrack
The next step for LaceTrack is to add the availability to ship and sell your shoes. I will find a way to tie in sites like Stockx and USPS with this website.
