Inspiration
The game play is inspired by short film "Room 8" (check it out! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O4fuqLR5k7E ) and my favorite cartoon "Doraemon." I combined the theme "cross life" with some recursive elements. I find it interesting to have multiple layers embedded on each other to create such "travel through dimensions" game play.
What it does
In Labyrinth Wayfarer, you need to weigh everyone move you make. You need to place the box to the correct position by pushing it. Think about your path at the very beginning, or you might find yourself stuck in an awkward position. Utilize the provided assets creatively.
How we built it
The game was created using Unity, C#, C++, and Unity default library.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge was to come up with something interesting in relatively short amount of time. To build up something from the very beginning within two days is definitely not a relaxing experience, but a fun one for sure!
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The biggest accomplishment I am proud of would be that I finished the project on time, and created a functionable demo version of the game, which is something I have never done before.
What we learned
I learnt a lot of valuable lessons, but the most important thing I learnt is to code efficiently under time pressure. Because of the time limit, I had to make sure that my code is simple and easy to read so it does not consume too much time when I am debugging it.
