Inspiration

I'm passionate about reimagining education and exploring better ways for students to learn. LabSim was inspired by my ongoing work teaching children about large language models, artificial intelligence, and their potential to make learning more engaging and accessible.

What it does

LabSim lets students select a trusted interactive science simulation or explore a question of their own. They can adjust variables, conduct and record trials, observe results, and complete a guided evidence-based worksheet—all within the browser.

How we built it

LabSim was vibe coded using Codex, powered by the GPT-5.6-Sol model.

Challenges we ran into

My biggest challenge was deploying the application successfully on Netlify and ensuring that the full experience worked reliably in production.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I built and deployed a fully functional product in just two days, transforming an educational idea into an interactive learning experience within a remarkably short timeline.

What we learned

Codex and GPT-5.6-Sol are powerful tools for turning ideas into real applications without manually writing every line of code. Their capabilities can dramatically accelerate development while still enabling the creation of polished, professional products.

What's next for LabSim

Add more verified labs and interactive visualizations Introduce an exam mode to assess student understanding Create experiment-specific visualizations for different scientific concepts Expand the range of supported subjects and learning levels
