💡 Inspiration

Traditional healthcare is reactive — we wait for symptoms to show up before taking action. I wanted to flip that model. Inspired by the concept of Medicine 3.0, I built Labloom — a personal health operating system focused on prevention, proactive diagnostics, and clear, AI-powered insights.

🛠️ What It Does

Labloom helps users stay one step ahead of disease by combining: • 🔬 Scheduled lab tests (CBC, thyroid, gut microbiome, cancer screeners, etc.) as part of a preventive health plan. • 📈 A centralized dashboard to track your biological age, health score, trends, and metrics over time. • 🤖 An AI chat assistant trained on your health data to recommend supplements, explain results, and suggest what to do next. • 📲 Wearable integrations (starting with Whoop) to track sleep, recovery, and strain in real time. • 🛒 Ability to book tests, consult doctors, and order supplements — all within the same experience.

⚙️ How I Built It

The entire app was rapidly prototyped and built using bolt.new, which helped me design, iterate, and ship faster than ever. • 🧱 Frontend: React + Tailwind + TypeScript via bolt.new’s visual development workflow. • 🧠 AI Integration: Chat assistant using OpenAI APIs, connected to structured health data. • 🧪 PDF Parsing: Python (FastAPI) backend hosted on Render, extracting lab values into structured formats. • 🔐 Auth & DB: Supabase for user authentication, storage, and health connection management. • 🔌 Whoop OAuth: Supabase Edge Functions for secure integration with wearable data.

⚔️ Challenges I Faced • Parsing diverse, unstructured lab reports reliably. • Designing a biological age algorithm that feels accurate and personalized. • Building a complete OAuth flow for wearables in a weekend. • Presenting complex health data in a clear, user-friendly way.

📚 What I Learned • Tools like bolt.new can dramatically reduce the time from idea to execution. • Prevention is the future of healthcare, but it needs great design and data to work. • A single person, with the right tools, can build the foundation of a health tech product in days — not months. • Great UX and AI together can empower users to take control of their health. • The future of health isn’t hospitals — it’s smart, early decisions made at home.
