Inspiration
When i got to know about the themes (Food & Finance) i was confused about where to go. But one thing about thing about which i wasn't confised was building an educational tool. I was initially thinking of making a website which will let people know about web3 concepts like smart contracts, stablecoins etc in simple/Gamified ways. Simultaneously, the idea of LabelWise was also running in my head parallely. I tried googling about the problems people face with packaged food items. I got to know that people are looking to understand what is there in there in the packaged food items they are buying. But they are unable to understand it because it has names of crazy compounds about which they haven't heard of. Eventually, i decided to make LabelWise
What it does
It makes you more informed about the lables of packaged food.
Challenges we ran into
One of the biggest challenges I faced was figuring out the technical setup—I was building entirely on mobile using Termux, so even pushing code to GitHub and managing version control was a learning curve. On the development side, connecting the Flask backend with a simple frontend took time to get right.
What's next for LabelWise
In the future, we aim to add label scanning and AI-powered database expansion to make understanding your food even easier. We will get you informed about the cutting-edge reseach on these chemicals available to a common man. So that, you can make a better choice.
