Our story
HAJJ, the world’s biggest pilgrimages of Muslims, each year more than 2 million Muslim make it to Meccah ,within this holly ritual, comes huge problems , and that's why we made it all the way to Jeddah. because we believe that hajj experience could be much more easier and better .
How we built it
We built it using many tools such as Android Studio, Google Maps SDK for Android, Google Directions APIs, Firebase for database hosting, notifications and analytics. and many other open sources libraries such as OKHttp3, Butterknife ....
Challenges we ran into
How to collect the huge amount of wastes, recycle it ,generate revenue from it, and reducing the need for human efforts during the crowded period of Hajj.
Accomplishments that we're proud of:
being able of reducing the mass of waste in the most crowded points in hajj season. Save on labor costs by streamlining and optimizing waste operations. Less frequent collections and less inefficient collections.
What we learned
The huge amount of waste generated by Muslim pilgrims during only few days of Hajj is tremendously hard to manage even with a lot of human power. There is a big opportunity for this waste to be beneficial both economically and financially.
What's next for L-020-Bin2.0
This project is a small step in our bigger aim. Green Hajj. where all wastes and disposable are managed in an efficient way and put into a good use.
