Inspiration

Hajj is a major event at Makkah Saudi Arabia in global context, people all across the globe gather for few days at this most sacred place on this earth. This bring a big challenge for the organizers as well as participants to manage and coordinate with Hujjaj (People performing the rituals of Hajj) . We wish to provide a method to properly organize the crowd thought the use of technology.

What it does

We are trying to focus on the Smart Hajj Crowd management mechanism , that will provide ease to manage the large amount of crowd that gathers for the sacred ritual of Hajj. The system is designed for storing information, channelizing information as well as providing tool for authorities to manage crowd in real time. Google Map API will be used to transmit real time GPS data which will be used to trigger facilities related to crowd facilities in different circumstances. It may Include redirecting people towards a particular direction,Notify authorities on field to take action, initiate particular service time-bound, or manage hazard circumstances by shifting to other planed measures. It also provide help to individuals in special need or old or people who are not healthy at a particular stage, The Application is build to incorporate GPS location mapped through Google Map API.

How we built it

We started with a requirement analysis, it involved gathering historic information at and around Hajj. Statistical data that provided us different demographic details, which includes breakup of personals from different language and nationality .We used android SDK and Google Map API to develop the mobile application, this will include Backend API which would be hosted through Google Play Store for access by public, and the Webapplication will include Database in future through PHP Mysql environment.

Challenges we ran into

The challenge we got was that we did not had enough number of volunteers to help in the development process in such a short development time.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We have gained lot of experience in this hackathon , which include participating and contributing to a big event of Hajj and gave our effort to make some important contribution to the idea and practical application of the idea in a short amount of time. Our App is functional and ready to use. Incremental work can follow.

What we learned

Time management, resource management, people management and self learning.

What's next for L-002 Hussain Ahmad

We can build additional functions and features that would serve great purpose for the Hajj, this provides motivation for incremental development of the Apps and services that produces benefit for the humanity. We envision to add feature and functionality with integrated services for different set of users of this application. Smart IOT chip can be involved with a wristband for Hajis that registers them through the satellite.
