Inspiration

We were inspired after

What it does

Qwest turns real life into a system of side quests. You pick a real life challenge to socialize, go do it, and earn points for it in real time. Most apps are designed to keep you scrolling. Qwest does the opposite — it pushes you to go outside, do things, meet people. And who knows, you might end up meeting people you spend the rest of your life with. We want to bring alive the beauty of socialization.

How we built it

We used Ollama's computer vision model with the Llava which allows you to detect objects in images. The objects detected in the images are then cross-verified with the quest to confirm that the user actually completed the correct objective.

Challenges we ran into

The teamate who was supposed to do the frontend got rejected, which resulted in us having to just go with what we believed looked good.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

our problem solving regarding the integration of Ollama model with a backup of Gemini in case Ollama fails. We also somehow set up our computers as the hub where all the traffic goes through which increased speed for users.

What we learned

We learned how to use react native affectively and utilize the time that was given to us in an affective manor to maximise output.

What's next for Kwest

First, check if there is a demand for this sort of app through social media posts, targeted focus groups, etc. If there is then we upload to the app store and market the app to increase users.
