Inspiration

We wanted to make Minikura to appeal to a wider variety of users by adding features that seamlessly connected to Minikura's principle to provide user's with a convenient and easy-to-use application.

The name, Kura-Boration, comes from the combination of the Japanese word "kura", which means storage, and collaboration.

What it does

Kura-boration in an everything inventory service that takes inventory of your storage with Minikura, a storage service, and helps you manage your current possessions. Our service allows the user to view the latest updates regarding their items such as recommendations for newer products as well as updates for recalls.

How we built it

Ruby on Rails

Challenges we ran into

Node.js

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Our ability to merge a business and technology to provide users with a service that is convenient, easy-to-use, and scalable.

Our other accomplishment is our ability to create a functional prototype despite our initial problems with Node.js and Windows.

What we learned

If there is an initial problem with developing (e.g. language or OS) it is best to make that decision to find something more suitable sooner rather than later.

What's next for Kura-Boration

Live updates based on other factors such as using other user's data to predict trends of products.

We hope to Kura-Borate with other services in the future.
