Inspiration
Our world is full of noise. We procrastinate because of social media, and human nature. Since I started to be an entrepreneur I work to stay productive. I tried to do list on paper, digital app... and then started to make my own. My todo list is always big and then it's hard to know priority.
But if you have clear goal and rules this ain't that hard.
What it does
- You can define goals (personal, pro...) ex: Run a marathon, get my degree, get a job...
- Link all your tasks to a goal
- For each task you have to set a time (because a task without a time is just a fancy idea)
- Create recuring task (for building habits)
How I built it
- Like all project I do, I started with speaking with some people and made some research of the market
- I started to note (For who? why?) idea is to understand who will use my app, and why.
- then I designed the first mockup version (just gray squares and imagining flows)
- made a first designed version
- started to share it on X and TikTOK and saw some traction
- started to code using Flutter
- once code is ready I started to ask a few people to try it and testing it hard to find any bug
- going also into the street with a phone and the app on it. Asking people to try the app without explaining anything.
Challenges I ran into
- I wanted this have to have a unique experience. So I started iterating until I found the idea of using a mascott to focus on procrastination instead of doing a goal tracker or a habit tracker. I focused on the problem and not the solution.
- The app need to be simple but allowing building complex schedule. Instead of showing a calendar and streak of habits... I focused on showing your current day
- how to keep people motivated? Inspired by atomic habit that explain that you need to project yourself to build strong habits. I decided to ask people why they follow a goal, and show it each time they tap on a task related to it.
- How can I keep people motivated? Most of the time human nature try to get quick wins. So I designed a gamification system with achievements. I plan to give some rewards from achievments next
