Inspiration
Inspired by our friends with cars who have trouble every day finding a spot by their dorm
What it does
this website shows the lots on campus and gives live time updates on how many spots are available. We built this already assuming image sensors are in place at each lot.
How we built it
We used VSC with HTML and CSS then for the backend we used MYSQL and to connect it all together, we used Flask.
Challenges we ran into
when adding our MySQL file into our git repository, it caused a problem as our git repository was public and MySQL requires a private repository.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Since this is all of our first Hackathon, we all spend the first multiple hours learning how to code many of the things and we were able to make a product.
What we learned
how to code, time management, and a glimpse into full stack development.
What's next for KU Parking Spots
With more time, making this into an app would be our wish. We also only added lots on Daisy Hill and want to add lots all over campus.
