Inspiration

Augmented Reality can change the way we learn the concepts, it makes learning more fun, engaging and effective. Even the toughest of the topics can be made easy to visualize and understand with the help of augmented reality. The main intention behind creating Kupoorva is to help students learn concepts by bringing extra creativity, interactivity and engagement 😎

Educational institutes were one of the first places that had to be shut down due to the current pandemic situation leaving a gap between effective learning techniques and students. During the pandemic, educational institutions have adopted online teaching and learning methods. And this motivated us to bridge that gap using Augmented Reality We thought of giving the whole process a new dimension and bringing the classroom to the user's space. With the help of augmented reality, the students can learn the concepts by seeing them in action and interacting with it anywhere, anytime! 😍

What it does

Krupoorva, the personal AR tutor guides the user to choose among the different physics concepts available. On choosing particular concepts, it helps the user understand the concept with audio and text tutorials. Along with that, the user can see the AR objects in action and interact with them. To make the whole process more fun, we have also added face filters that represent the concept that the user is currently learning. The user can switch to any topic at any point of time simply by tapping on the AR tutor which navigates to the available topics. We have covered the topics in physics that students usually find hard to visualize and understand. We believe that during times like these when the students are stuck at home and can't attend their institutions, AR can help enrich the process of learning and make it more fun 🎉

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are super happy and proud that we could bring our idea of using AR in teaching complex concepts to action. The use of AR in education will breathe in a new life in the learning and teaching process 👨‍🏫

Seamless experience across most of the devices both with device motion capabilities as well those don’t, through what we call a Virtual Space immersive experience 😯

What we learned

Honestly we both were very naive when we first started working on this project. We started with patch editor and then slowly slowly learning all the components of SparkAR studio as well advanced scripting 💻 We have also taken advantage of newer features like block creation and sharing. It really helped us work collaboratively in a more efficient way 👩🏻‍🤝‍🧑🏽
