Inspiration Most people have no idea what's hiding in their browser cookies or where that data goes. We wanted to make that visible. What it does Krumel scans cookies on websites you visit, decodes what's stored in them, and shows you exactly which third-party services (ad networks, analytics, data brokers) are receiving your data. How we built it We built it entirely on Base44, using its logic and data handling capabilities to parse cookie payloads, identify trackers, and display the results in a simple dashboard — no traditional backend needed. Challenges we ran into Cookie data is often encoded or obfuscated, and mapping cookies to their actual destinations required cross-referencing tracker databases with live network requests. Accomplishments that we're proud of Getting the full pipeline working — from cookie detection to data destination mapping — on a no-backend Base44 setup, with a UI that makes it understandable for non-technical users. What we learned How deeply interconnected the ad-tech ecosystem is, and how much data is silently exchanged through cookie syncing between platforms. What's next for Krumel Real-time tracker alerts, an opt-out assistant for data brokers, and a browser extension for always-on monitoring.
