Inspiration

It all began when I and my frinds kept running into halluciantions and mock data, stubs and even hallucinated libraries

What it does

kronnos is basically the last layer or serves as the last layer for coding and AI assisted software engineering, It catches hallucinated APIs, logic bugs, and architecture drift as they happen, calculates the blast radius of each change, and enforces your engineering rules automatically

How we built it

Backend: Python + FastAPI, with PostgreSQL for persistent storage, Redis for caching, and Celery for background task processing, handling concurrent analysis across saved files without blocking the IDE. AI layer: Gemini API + Gemini Studio power the core verification pipeline, running hallucination detection, logic-bug hunting, and architecture drift analysis. Dev environment: Built entirely inside Antigravity IDE. Client: A native VS Code sidebar extension (also supporting Cursor, Windsurf, and other forks) that talks to the backend via API key and streams real-time diagnostics back into the editor.

Challenges we ran into

not many challenges were faced as kronnos helped find more bugs in its own codebase

Accomplishments that we're proud of

a native vscode extension, kronnos state of the art bug hunting logic and many more

What we learned

We also learned that "verified" only means something if it fails safely; an early connectivity failure caused the extension to silently report "no anomalies found" instead of flagging the outage, a false negative worse than no tool at all, which pushed us to build state caching and explicit offline indicators. On the AI side we learned hallucination detection needs staged depth rather than one pass, since cheap syntax checks catch the obvious stuff but hallucinated APIs only surface under deeper, costlier analysis. That's why our pipeline runs in stages, always checking fundamentals, running functional checks on relevant files, and triggering complex logic analysis only when project health drops.

What's next for Kronnos

consistent updates, more improvements, marketing too!!!!!!
