I was deeply moved by the daily struggles of Indian farmers – limited access to expert advice, language barriers, and a lack of real-time info. I envisioned Krishi Saathi to bridge these gaps, offering personalized, multilingual, voice-enabled AI guidance to empower every farmer.Inspiration

What it does

Krishi Saathi is my AI-powered farming companion. It provides tailored advice on crop health, pests, irrigation, and weather. Crucially, it speaks multiple Indian languages via voice, making expert knowledge accessible to everyone, no matter their literacy level.

How we built it

I built Krishi Saathi using cutting-edge Large Language Models (LLMs) and integrated real-time data from sources like the IMD. The key was deploying it directly onto WhatsApp using the base44.app platform, making advanced AI instantly available through a familiar interface

Challenges we ran into

Overcoming challenges was part of the journey. I tackled the complexities of understanding diverse Indian dialects, ensured functionality in low-connectivity areas, and sourced localized agricultural data to train the AI accurately.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm incredibly proud of the impact Krishi Saathi has already made. It’s resolved hundreds of thousands of farmer queries, significantly sped up advisory services, and successfully delivered sophisticated AI via a simple WhatsApp interface, promoting true inclusion.

What we learned

Building this project taught me that technology for social impact must be invisible and deeply localized. The best solutions are multilingual, voice-activated, and integrate real-time, context-specific data, accessible on platforms people already use.

What's next for krishiSaathi

The future is bright! I plan to expand Krishi Saathi's capabilities with features like plant disease detection via image analysis, real-time market price forecasting, and deeper integration with government schemes and financial aid. The goal is continuous growth and broader reach to transform Indian agriculture.
