Inspiration
Since young, we have been taught and told that Nepali is a country rich in agriculture. However, our nation has never been able to achieve that status to its full extent. Krishi-स्पर्श seeks to change that, creating a sustainable eco-system for farmers and consumer creating a pear-to-pear connection.
What it does
krishi-स्पर्श seeks to find new way farmer can sustain their business. We are trying to create a trade off between farmers and consumers. Farmer selling their goods to consumer for reasonable price (no in-between price), and providing incentive to consumer to return the bio-degradable waste from the product back to framers for some discount/coupons on future purchases. We believe this is a very healthy environment for an industry with huge potential.
How we built it
We decided to take this idea and create it into an eCommerce website. A site where farmer can create their own account and sell their goods directly to the consumer without any third-party.

Challenges we ran into
We faced various challenges from the start. As the theme of the hackathon was announced, we were nervous, overwhelmed, and bit scared. Immediately, we started brainstorming into project idea which itself was challenging. As a team full of 1st timers, we didn't know what to do and what direction to take. But, we continued our journey and landed on creating a eCommerce website. As someone who had never taken such project, it was hard to navigate through the project. We ran into various issue with our code, designs, and most importantly git.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of the fact we as a 1st time hackathon team, took on a challenging project and went through it. Being able to collaborate, network and be part of something fun, and productive was a great experience we will never forget and will always be proud of.
What we learned
Over the period of 2-days we learnt more than we could bargain. Being able to collaborate and work in a team, sharing ideas, designs was a great experience. Also, the small but efficient events organized through out the event was fun and educative. Also, being able to network with other participants and mentors taught us alot.
What's next for krishi-sparha
krishi-sparha plans to creating a user-friendly UI/UX for farmer that may not be comfortable with using phone/PC. We could create UI/icon based navigation for easy for use. Also, we want to pave a path for the youth of our country to get employment and be par t of this company.
