Nowadays, there are many VR kits for entertainment and simulation, but they tend to be very expensive and often difficult to set up, coming with many issues throughout their lifespan.
As a solution, our goal was to develop a product that addresses most of the problems mentioned above, giving more people the opportunity to experience VR entertainment and, in turn, boosting the development of products in this field.
Our idea of a prototype is a VR kit consisting of a VR headset that uses a smartphone as the rendering interface for any simulation, which is processed remotely, either via cloud computing or streamed from the user’s computer. The kit will also include two VR gloves or a traditional VR controller combined with one glove.
For headset positioning, the smartphone’s sensors are used. The controllers will also include built-in sensors that communicate with the headset to ensure synchronization.
