Inspiration

Wanting to build a decentralized exchange in the web3 space, that will make life easier for the users and grow/expand into something huge.

What it does

It enables users to swap, deposit and withdraw their assets in one place, across multiple chains/networks.

How we built it

For our smart contracts we used Vyper with Brownie, and Hardhat; as well as Solidity with Hardhat and a custom deployment framework based on the work done by the Balancer team. For the front-end of our application we used next.js with Typescript with tailwind css for the structure and styling. For functionality and interacting with our smart contracts we used Ethers.js, React Query, Wagmi, RainbowKit, Typechain and React Query Typechain. The mockup of our application was made in Figma as well as design for the logo.

Challenges we ran into

Expanding our project to multiple chains was one of the most difficult parts, as it included reworking the whole infrastructure and adapting it to each network we've added to our ecosystem. Current challenges we are dealing with are going cross-chain as we want to create a decentralized, safe and seamless process for our users.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Building the whole application was an accomplishment itself, but if we have to choose one accomplishment in pirticular is the one when we successfuly went multichain.

What we learned

Web3 space can sometimes be a real pain, as it’s a new technologies represent a whole new set of challenges. It has+ really opened our eyes to how the processes and technologies on blockchain work and gave us a whole new perspective of the crypto exchanges world.

What's next for Kōyō Finance

The next step is definitely going cross-chain, so we can bridge our tokens between the supported chains, which also includes our own token. We plan to expand to as many chains as we can and get sufficient liquidity, so we can provide a stable and enjoyable exchange experience for our users.We are also aiming that with use of Kōyō Finance, our token will get some traction, increase in value and become a new popular currency on the market.
