Inspiration
Konveyor was inspired by the need to address knowledge fragmentation in large organizations. With knowledge often tied to key individuals, employee turnover and transitions can cause inefficiencies. Konveyor was created to automate the process of knowledge transfer, ensuring that organizational expertise remains accessible and scalable.
What it does
Konveyor is an AI-powered tool that ingests and organizes diverse data sources like documents, wikis, and code repositories into a unified, searchable knowledge base. It provides context-aware answers, automated documentation, and expert-level Q&A, ensuring seamless knowledge transfer across teams.
How we built it
Built with Python and Semantic Kernel, Konveyor uses NLP and vector databases to analyze and organize data. It processes diverse sources, delivers coherent, context-aware answers, and generates automated documentation to support onboarding and training.
Challenges we ran into
We faced challenges integrating varied data formats and ensuring context-aware responses that reflect industry-specific language. Scaling the system to handle large data volumes and maintaining fast, accurate retrieval were also key hurdles.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully built a unified knowledge base that delivers real-time, relevant answers, reduces reliance on manual documentation, and supports continuous knowledge retention, even in fast-paced, high-turnover environments.
What we learned
We learned the importance of context in knowledge transfer and the challenge of creating a user-friendly interface for complex AI systems. The project highlighted how AI can bridge knowledge gaps and support organizational growth.
What's next for Konveyor
Next, we plan to expand support for more data sources and enterprise tools, enhance AI models for deeper personalization, and improve scalability for larger organizations. We're also exploring machine learning-powered insights to identify knowledge gaps.
