Inspiration

Finding accommodation as a student is far more difficult than it should be. Existing platforms are built for the general real estate market, leaving students and young professionals struggling with outdated listings, brokerage fees, fake posts, and the challenge of finding compatible flatmates. Having experienced these problems ourselves, we wanted to build a platform designed specifically for students—not property dealers. That idea became Konsors.

What it does

Konsors is a student-first accommodation platform that helps students and young professionals discover PGs, flats, hostels, and compatible flatmates in one place.

Key features include: Student-focused accommodation search Flatmate matching Verified property listings Brokerage-free connections Location-based discovery near colleges and workplaces Waiting list system for high-demand properties Privacy-first communication where users don't need to expose their phone numbers publicly Our goal is to make finding accommodation as easy as finding a ride or ordering food.

The platform is designed to be scalable, responsive, and optimized for mobile users since most students search for accommodation on their phones.

Challenges we ran into

Some of the biggest challenges included: Designing a workflow specifically for students instead of traditional property buyers. Collecting authentic listings before the official launch. Optimizing website performance and reducing page load times. Implementing secure authentication while keeping onboarding simple. Improving SEO so listings can appear in Google search results after launch. Accomplishments that we're proud of

Built a working MVP from scratch. Successfully deployed the platform on Microsoft Azure. Published the first live accommodation listings. Created a dedicated platform focused entirely on students and young professionals. Designed a clean, modern interface that simplifies accommodation discovery. Established the foundation for a scalable marketplace.

What we learned

Building Konsors taught us that solving a real problem requires much more than writing code. We learned about product design, user research, deployment, SEO, cloud infrastructure, authentication, and the importance of continuously gathering user feedback. Most importantly, we learned that understanding users' everyday struggles leads to better products.

What's next for Konsors

Our roadmap includes: AI-powered accommodation recommendations. Smart flatmate compatibility matching based on lifestyle and preferences. Verified landlord and property badges. In-app chat between tenants and property owners. College ambassador program to expand listings city by city. Rent payment and booking features. Expansion to universities across India, making Konsors the go-to accommodation platform for students and young professionals.
