Inspiration

When we decided to go for sustainability, we first asked ourselves what sustainability problems we faced in our daily lives. What we quickly realized is that with all the information out there about sustainability and the environment, it is hard to find simple, doable everyday actions that have a positive impact on the environment.

What it does

Konserva gives users weekly environment themed challenges that strive to introduce new ideas and promote sustainability. Not only can users do challenges alone, but they can also form a group and start a group challenge. A leaderboard system rewards players that do their best to conserve the environment.

How we built it

We built it with Apache(for the server), PHP (for the backend), mySQL (for the databases), and Figma (for the prototyping and design for the website)

Challenges we ran into

One of the largest hurdles we faced was working with tool that were outside of our wheelhouse. In the beginning we were quite unfamiliar with databases and UI design components as first-years.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of how we adapted to this new and challenging environment, and created a full-fledged project. Additionally, we are very happy with how our UI/UX came out and its appearance.

What we learned

We learned front-end design and a LOT about databases
