Inspiration

A community is defined as a social group with common interests or imbibed with a common culture. As we know it, culture is an act -- a manifestation of a belief system, a result of the values the members of the social group believe in. Building a community requires providing a lot of value, and being responsive to that community. Now a lot of groups are being sprung up, causing confusion when looking for communities on a particular topic with poor content and many people end up wasting time looking for the perfect community.

What it does

Konnect is a bot that takes the stress out of discovering communities, communities and helps moderators with quality content reach more people looking for responsive communities to join or specific content in and grow thier community.

How I built it

I used the Facebook Messenger bot framework with Javascipt, with wit.ai for natural language processing, then facebook group plugin apis with js to help get relevant group content and enable users join right from messenger.

Challenges I ran into

Pulling the apis together to work well and deliver the required experience.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Being able to complete the project generally.

I learnt how to use facebook graph apis and wit.ai

What's next for Konnect

Making it a bigger experience outside messenger, make it accessible from other platforms.
