The Spark: In a world saturated with digital noise and endless notifications, finding a moment of genuine peace can feel impossible. I wanted to create a digital sanctuary—a place where users could cultivate their own 'Komorebi' (木漏れ日), the Japanese word for sunlight filtering through trees. My goal was to build a living, breathing work of art that serves as a gentle reminder to pause, breathe, and to appreciate the quiet beauty of emergent patterns.

The Journey: I began my journey with pure JavaScript and the p5.js library, drawn to their simplicity and power. The biggest challenge was not in the code, but in the physics; making the movement of particles feel organic and random, yet intentional. Each branch grows and fades, each leaf flutters and falls, mirroring the ephemeral nature of real sunlight. Through countless iterations, I refined the visual feedback—the soft glow, the smooth color transitions—until the experience felt less like a program and more like a living canvas.

The Vision: Komorebi is more than a project; it's a new way to think about digital art and mindfulness. It’s a testament to the idea that powerful, positive experiences can be created with simple, elegant code. It proves that art doesn't have to be complex to be meaningful. As I look to the future, I see this project as a foundation for exploring new forms of generative, therapeutic art, where the user's feeling is the primary input and the code is the brush.

Call to Action: I invite you to experience Komorebi. Move your mouse, cultivate the light, and find your own moment of digital zen. Thank you.
