The problem your project solves
After the coronavirus pandemic, it will feel better than anything to shake hands with or hug each other. Until we are able to do that safely, we can lend a hand to our favourite small businesses, local entrepreneurs, bands, performers.
The solution you bring to the table
Reach out! Our vision is to build a platform for businesses that are unable to operate in the current state of emergency, stagnant and suffering significant financial losses, and for the public that wants to support them.
What you have done during the weekend
We started the project at the Hack the Crisis Hungary hackathon. Over the weekend, we worked on converting this local solution to a wider audience. The legal, business and linguistic implementation of our project would potentially and hopefully support even more people in the fight for maintaining their businesses.
The solution’s impact to the crisis
In the current crisis situation (COVID-19), the Kollektiva provides an opportunity for the micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, that could sell and provide, but cannot do so due to the current legal regulations and prohibitions, to sustain their businesses and jobs and fulfill these commitments only later.
The necessities in order to continue the project
Establishment of a claims settlement and support fund. This model can only operate based on the mutual trust between the buyers, the Kollektiva and the sellers. No one will spend on the platform unless their invested money is secured. That’s why we’re creating a Claims Settlement and Support Fund (CSSF), which we replenish with micro, small and large donations received on purchases and independently. This takes effect when an entrepreneur is still unable to fulfill his commitment due to the market situation. In which case, the CSSF will refund - after an inspection - the amount to the buyer. At the same time, we examine the circumstances of non-compliance in order to minimize its future occurrence, to sanction the presence of risk-minimizing companies and to ensure the full transparency of the Kollektiva.
The value of your solution(s) after the crisis
All local micro, small and medium-sized enterprises may face temporary economic disruption, which will not allow them to sell in the short term while having valuable market knowledge, adequate equipment and skilled workers. This miniature ecosystem has been developed throughout many years and has a significant role in each country’s market, but even more so in the local economy. Losing them, while often a market necessity, is still a significant loss for a community. The Collective will continue to operate after the COVID-19 crisis and help local businesses through difficult times, along with their customer community.
