Inspiration
In our fast-paced, technology-driven world, our eyes are constantly on blinding computer and smartphone screens. Continuously looking at an electronic screen increases the absorption of blue light, a leading cause as to why many people find difficulty in immediately falling asleep. In fact, after surveying 35 students at one of the residence halls at UC Berkeley, we found that over 28% of students have difficulty falling asleep within 30 minutes.
Studies show that reducing the exposure to blue light before bedtime can decrease the time it takes to fall asleep, enhancing sleep quality for individuals. Our app, Koala, seeks to limit blue light exposure by organizing and enforcing tasks before bedtime.
Our mission is to help individuals create and manage a nighttime schedule with a simple yet powerful tool.
How It Works
With Koala, you can set times to complete certain tasks before you sleep. At these set times, notifications will be sent to the user reminding them of their tasks to complete before bedtime.
