Know Your Music

Inspiration

We hear a lot of music everyday but don't know how they are classified,my app analyses your music and tells which genre the music is using Machine Learning

What it does

The user inputs the music file in mp3 format ant the code tells which type of music it is in 10 classes : blues, classical, country, disco, hiphop, jazz, metal, pop, reggae, rock.

How we built it

1. We used dataset of music genre which consist of types of music with their tempo,mfcc values.
2. Then we cleaned the data by dropping unt required columns
3. And trained that data on K-Nearest-Neighbours to determine theGenre of Music

Challenges we ran into

1. Cleaning of Dataset-We overcomed by learning pandas library
2. K-Nearest Neighbours Algorithm- We learned the algorithm from link

Accomplishments that we're proud of

1. Accuracy of Model is 88%
2. It is very fast and user-friendly
3. It is built on Google Cloud's Google Colab

What's next for Know Your Music

1. Adding More Features like Music Generation
2. Adding more music classes by increasing our Dataset Size
