Inspiration

We were inspired to create Knit Sync because we wanted a traveling heating pad for menstrual cramps and lower back pain. We thought of Copper Fit when designing our product and the healing and cooling braces they have. We were also inspired by Aunt Flow and how their products are eco-friendly and how the company gives back to the community. We want to bring awareness to our products and how we can help low income women handle the discomfort that comes along with periods. While also bringing awareness to the stigma that comes with having a period and not having all the right products.

What it does

Knit Sync is a detachable wrap that targets heat to the lower back to relieve pain from stiffness, tense muscles, sore muscles, and cramps.

How I built it

We built our design using the Knitting Machine and advanced technology. We used a heating sensor and circuit unit.

Challenges I ran into

We faced a few challenges when designing Knit Sync. We were only allowed to use one heat sensor, but we wanted to use multiple sensors. We wanted to create an app to turn the heat sensor on, but we ran into technology issues.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

We are proud of how well our team worked together. We were able to brainstorm together and all bring a different skill set to the team.

What I learned

We learned that it takes a lot to generate a product from an idea to a physical piece. We learned a lot about the different technologies and how they work.

What's next for Knit Sync

Knit Sync will continue to grow and evolve. We will have a next generation and upgrades. We eventually want to evolve our product for medical purposes.
