Inspiration
I like rhythm games, so I thought it would be fun to implement a similar design to a game!
How we built it
Everything is done in Processesing, which is a lightweight Java language used to create very simple objects and screen. However, I thought it would be a fun challenge to make something more complicated with it by building a game from the ground up.
Challenges we ran into
There was a LOT of class creation and animation to be done in the creation of this game. Making something that ran like a game within a program as simple as Processesing was difficult. But, there is satisfaction in being able to use what little tools you have to make something work.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I've never made a game before, let alone one in 36 hours, so I had little expectations coming in that I would make something great. However, having a working game (albeit not overly complication) make me feel proud of how far I've come as a programmer.
What we learned
Maybe use a game-building platform to make a game next time haha
What's next for Knight Runner Game
More sprites besides just the main runner? The game could use a fresh coat of textures and sprites that just couldn't be done in that time.
Artwork and Sprites
The artwork and sprites in this game were so graciously done by my good friend and talented artist Nic. If you want to follow them online to view their work, check the links below! Twitter: @krystalline2014 Instagram: @mossmushroom2021
