In our experience, passive reading provides little stimulation to our minds, leading to less understanding and an overall study session in vain. What we found was that active recall, a technique where you explain topics that you have reviewed, works really well, though there aren't any good tools online to practice this. To fix this issue, we built Knewt, an AI-powered webapp which allows students and teachers to upload their class notes or PowerPoints, turn on their cameras, and begin explaining and reciting their notes. Here, better explanations that align with your notes earn you more points, helping to raise your pet. In the future, we'd love to add features that lock down students' phones to prevent them from looking at review materials while in their active learning sessions.
