Inspiration

I was involved in a cycling accident and broke a shoulder bone, with a fractured arm I needed to get my order a taxi, bike to a mechanic shop, and get myself checked into a hospital, even my family was not aware something had happened to me until almost a full day later. There is a need for rescue services as more people start using bicycles for more than just leisure.

What it does

Klunkaz is a bicycle registry that will allow people to register their ownership of the bike and get services based on proven ownership from insurance products not based on household items but offering rescue, damage, and cover for bike and rider.

How we built it

The first prototype run of Facebook and I am now working on building it on the blockchain, I have been running some tests on Ethereum but the cost of gas fees has ben quite an issue.

Challenges we ran into

Gas fees, the initial insurance product was based on household goods and did not make sense to many cyclists. I started working on a different model to address accidents, theft, and the lack of a strong way to show ownership.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

From a project I started on my own, I have been able to rally a team of 4 and we are now working on getting the system live by October.

What we learned

Convincing Insurance companies to launch new products is not easy and takes time and much explaining

What's next for Klunkaz

Registry, then insurance, recovery, tracking services, and finally get the cycling community to ride and raise tokens for professional cyclists who cat afford $10,000 professional bikes. In 2025 we should be able to get two or three riders in the tour de France or other world competitions.
